About James Mitchell
James built FitnessProGuide out of personal frustration with existing fitness calculators - tools that were slow, ad-heavy, required signup, or offered zero explanation of the formula behind their results. With a background in computer science and years of self-directed strength and nutrition tracking, he set out to build something different: a platform where every tool is free, fast, and scientifically grounded. Every formula on the site was researched from peer-reviewed academic sources before a single line of code was written.
James specializes in the intersection of technology and applied fitness science. He has personally tracked macros, TDEE, body composition, and training volume across multiple training phases - giving him practical insight into the questions real users ask when they get a calculator result. His role is formula selection, tool architecture, and ensuring that every result display is accompanied by enough context for the user to understand what to do with it.

How I Ensure Accuracy
- Every formula is sourced from a peer-reviewed publication or official health body (WHO, CDC, ACSM, ISSN, ACOG)
- The primary source is cited at the bottom of every calculator page
- All health-related interpretations are reviewed by a certified fitness or nutrition professional before publication
- Calculator results display confidence ranges and recommend consulting a healthcare provider for medical decisions
- Pages are reviewed and updated when new research supersedes existing formula standards
